I purchased 5 REA CLEP books: CLEP Introduction to Educational Psychology (CLEP Test Preparation) CLEP Introductory Sociology w/CD (REA) - The Best Test Prep for the CLEP Exam (Test Preps) CLEP Biology w/ CD-ROM (CLEP Test Preparation) CLEP College Mathematics w/CD-ROM (CLEP Test Preparation) CLEP Analyzing & Interpreting Literature w/ Online Practice Exams (CLEP Test Preparation)I also purchased the CLEP Official Study Guide 2012. This was only worthwhile because I was taking so many tests. It only contains a sample test for each CLEP - and there are no detailed answers. I will say I think it was helpful but I also do not believe it made a real difference in terms of pass / fail on the tests.For the first three listed, it was enough to read the books a couple of times and then take the tests. Some of the material wasn't on the CLEP and there was material on the CLEP that was not in the book. That is to be expected given the broad topics covered. There is enough material in each of these three books to pass the CLEP they cover. I crammed a full semester of these classes into two weeks of study.**NOTE** The sample tests are an important part of the learning process. There is information in the tests and detailed answers that is not covered elsewhere in the text. Do not underestimate the need to review the sample tests. They also give you good practice on timing. I considered this important for the Math and Literature tests. I was worried about spending too much time on each question for these last two. This is why I was disappointed with the lack of computer based testing with the Literature book.The other two CLEP books require specific reviews.College Mathematics: This was the toughest of the five for me personally. I do not feel the book covered the material in enough depth to prepare you for the test. It assumed you knew an awful lot that I did not know. There are drill questions at the end of each section. It would have been more helpful if they included detailed answers. There were a couple that I never did figure out. I do not consider myself math challenged but I also admit that I am not a math major. I spent a lot of time on-line utilizing other resources. My thanks to:[...][...][...]Analyzing and Interpreting Literature: I'm not sure this book really added value for me. The tests were helpful in getting me familiar with the format of the test (the printed version was all I had to work with - see above). However, there isn't much within the text that actually helped me prepare. In all fairness, I am an avid reader (not poetry!!) and could have simply taken this test at any time. If you are not much of a reader this book might be a good guide on what to read. It does not contain a list of what to read but if you read the material it uses as examples, it may help. Reading this book alone will NOT prepare you for this test.

I thought this would be a guide as to what to study for each CLEP exam. It's not. It tells you how many questions there are. How long you have to answer them and what percentages of exam questions from each section.For example, for American Lit. it says 15% is The Colonial and Early National Period. 25% is the Romantic Period. 20% is the Period of Realism and Naturalism. 25 % is the Modernist Period. 15% is the Contemporary Period. Then the next seven pages are sample questions. You have to find the study material on your own.Worth the money? I don't think so... I actually got more in depth information from my College's web site then I did the test.Here's a tip. See what credit your college gives for each Clep test, then see what book they suggest for the equivalent class credit. College Comp. Clep test counts as ENG1001 and ENG1002 at NWFSC. So I looked at the ENG1001 and 1002 classes, and ordered the textbook second hand online. Cost me five bucks plus shipping, but was SO much more usefull going over the practice tests in the textbook then the CLEP prep book...I guess this would be a decent jumping ground if you REALLY REALLY knew the information already.

This gave me the experience and confidence I needed to walk in and get a 76/80 on the lit test. Well, I could have done so without it, but this is definitely a good resource for those who want to grab some units from CLEP. I also took the Social Sciences practice test and definitely could have passed that and would have had I not already gotten those credits from AP US History. The only weakness is the language bit. The Spanish practice test did not inform me that I would be able to test out of 3 Spanish classes (by one point), which luckily I did. Of course, that's because the oral part is missing from this book, which is unavoidable but a big limitation.

I used this book to help me study for the Introductory Psychology CLEP. I passed with a 66 after about ten hours of studying and previous non-credit, classroom experience. I was disappointed that there was only one practice test, but that one test was good preparation for the actual exam. The breakdowns of test content and tips on studying/ test taking were also a good resource, though much of it could be found online for free.I recommend buying another subject specific book. I used Barron's AP Psychology and Psychology (Cliffs Quick Review). Barron's had short quizzes at the end of every chapter, which definitely helped me know which subject areas I needed to study more.

A PATH TO SUCCESS! If anyone wants to move ahead quickly in satisfying college basics this is a great tool for success. CLEP testing allows students to save on tuition and accelerate completion of college basics that may be repetitive information covered in the High School Advanced Placement materials. Anyone can study for free online through youtube videos posted by colleges and universities across the nation. If you are self-motivated, not waiting for someone to do your work for you, this is a path to success. Great Resource.

So, I bought this newer study guide to gain some more insight into the American literature exam. Hopefully to see some different questions, well the exact same questions and answers from the 2010 Official CLEP Study guide are in the 2011 official study guide. I didn't check the other sections, but I'm pretty sure the whole thing is a reprint of the 2010.I'm going to compare my 2010 copy verse a 2012/2013 at a local bookseller and see if the questions match up there as well. If they do I'm going to come back, edit my post, and send the College board a snarky letter.

An excellent addition to Dr. Myles Munroe's biblically based study materials on leadership and character . As always, Myles has used his gifts to help us better understand God's Word. I'm so thankful for the privilege of having been exposed to his talents and gifts. I've been buying Myles Munroe's book since the mid to early 90's when I first became aware of him. He's been so consistent and stable in his work and I've learned alot. He has inspired me to get my Bachelor and Masters Degree in social work. My specialty is working with famlies and children. More recently, Myles has inspired me to start my own business. Although, I wanted more of him here in the physical world God knows best. Myles said," its not the person that draws people but his gifts". I had the pleasure of meeting Myles in 2002 at a church in my home town. I bought,The power of Prayer, an awesome book and got his autogragh. Yeah! Myles has left us with plenty of his gifts to carry on the vision. Myles is my mentor a true example of what we can do when we discover our TRUE self in the Kingdom of God. You are missed! This book by Dr. Myles Munroe is amazing. You might have to read it 2-3 times because he touches a lot of points you might not receive the first time. But good character should be the foundation to every persons life so I would recommend every one to read it.

I recommend this book to everyone, especially those in political office or in the public eye...one character mistake and you can kiss your future goodbye. The reason this book was not rated a five-star is there were too many references, but I expect many other readers would enjoy them.

Two intersecting paths brought me to read T.S. Eliot's whimsical 1939 book of poetry, "Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats." First, I have been reading poetry the past few weeks and was browsing the library for a short, unusual work. Second, I adopted a pet cat -- a little calico -- some months ago after more that 15 years without one. I had almost forgotten how companionable a cat could be. The new kitty inspired my reading of a so-so book or two. Then, the poetry and the cat led me to T.S. Eliot. In his book of practical cats, Old Possum, (1888 -- 1965), a great modernist poet, let his hair down.This little book, consists of 15 poems with the last one, "Cat Morgan Introduces Himself", added in 1952. The poems are short, rhythmical and rhymed. Eliot intended them for young children. They are delightful poetry in their own right with varied use of language and phrasing and poetic devices.The book became a famous musical and it is about a varied, eccentric menagerie of cats. The cats are recognizably feline and also manage to stand in for human types. The fourteen original poems tell an organized story with the first poem, "The Naming of Cats" setting the stage and the now penultimate poem, "The Ad-dressing of Cats" summarizing the story and bringing matters to a close. In between are 12 poems featuring a range of now famous cat characters.Every cat has "THREE DIFFERENT NAMES" we are told in the first poem: its given name, its particular name, and the name the cat keeps to itself. Which of the three names does Eliot use in the poems which follow? The poems tells the stories of cats with names such as Jennyanndots, the old Gumbie cat, the ill-fated Growltiger and his lady Griddlebone, and the obstinate Rum Tum Tugger. The literature is great, but the size of the print and the vividness of the print are disappointing. The font size is about a 7 or an 8, and the print is so light that it is difficult to read without readers. When I sit down to read a book for relaxation, I don't want to have to squint and struggle to read the print. There is plenty of blank space in the book to have increased the font size and making the font bold would have increased the enjoyment of the read tremendously.

My wife loved it! Came from the UK to the states quickly enough and packaged well. Almost brand new condition.Random fact: If you ever watch "Logan's Run", one of the characters in the movie quotes this book (also cited at the credits at the end).

Before seeing Andrew Lloyd Weber's musical, CATS!, I researched how he was inspired to write and stage this unusual production. When I discovered the inspiration came from the very British, T.S.Eliot, I had to read his book of verse before seeing the play. How did I ever miss this delightful look at the behavior of cats? As a cat lover and an Anglophile, I loved meeting village cats while traveling in England. On a visit to the home of the Bronte's in Haworth, West Yorkshire, I met Thomas, a tuxedo cat, who lived in the village. He was owned by no one. He spent his mornings in a bed at the travel agency, where he had his breakfast, and then he moseyed over to the Bronte Historical Society Museum for his dinner and some human attention. If T.S. Eliot had met Thomas, there would have been a very British verse about him included in this wonderful volume. Buy this book for your children or grandchildren. When read by you, it will make them let go of the video game or smart phone for awhile!!!

Excellent! Fun book to read to my kids. Wonderful wordy and rhythmic poems about cats that we read aloud before bed. Just watch out for some racist Asian references that were common in T.S. Elliot's time.

This volume was purchased as a gift for my mother and she loved it. (I also read it.) Other reviewers commented on font size issues, but neither of us noticed a problem.

I had read this book before and loved it, but when I met Boris, a real, live version of Rum Tum Tugger, I had to buy a copy to show his owner.It is amazing how little had to be done to turn these poems into a great musical comedy. I am, of course, talking about Cats. Most of the poems went directly into the show without any change whatever in their wording, and only three songs were added. Let's give full credit to Mr. Webber, It took a musical genius to do that, and one of the added songs, Memories, could stand alone as a masterpiece in any company, but most of the delight of the show comes from the wonderful feline characters created in this book.Jennyanydots, Old Deuteronomy, Gus the theatre cat, Spindleshanks, Bustipher Brown, McCavity, Mr. Mistofflees, Mungo Jerry, and Rumpleteaser all moved effortlessly from page to stage with no changes. That has to be some sort of record. If you loved Cats (the show) you need to read this book. If you love cats (the critters) you'll want to read this book. If you like poetry, you should read this book. If you like dogs, read the battle of the Pekes and the Pollicles. (You can skip over the part about the intervention of the great rumpus cat.)It was written for his godchildren, but it's a great read for everyone. It's not expensive, so get it to read to your children, but read it for yourself first.

Every cat lover should read this. Every parent should read this to their kids. Every poetry lover should read it aloud to themselves!.

We love these co-readers. My kindergartener loves them. I wish i could find more books with this style, maybe some fiction books.

My 2 year son loves these books. Although he doesn’t read yet- They have vivid real life pictures which captures his attention. The book is small enough to slip into my diaper bag and have on the go for when he is bored. I will definitely be adding more of these books to my sons library. I also have the farm one which is one of his favorite books!

This is an adorable book and the title of it is Animal Parents and Babies. BUT I have downgraded my review because the emphasis is *strictly* on mother and baby. Nothing about daddy. That would be OK if the title reflected that. Unfortunately, the title says animal *parents*, not animal mothers. Don’t be surprised when you buy that if it’s important to you. In our case, it was important. If you’re a single dad or you want to show that babies and *daddies* can be together, this isn’t your book. If the book had been half Mommies and half Daddies, or if it showed parents together, that would have been fine.

To be honest, I knew nothing about these strange looking amphibians until I read Lolly Brown’s “Axolotl Facts & Information: A Complete Pet Owner’s Guide.”This guide is truly an essential read if you have ever considered owning one of these as a pet, or even if you just want to know a bit more about them. Everything is here; care, tanks, habitat, diet, structure, buying one, average life span, what to feed them, how much they should cost, how they breed (fyi: the sexes are hard to differentiate, you may get more than you bargained for!) health, how they are used in medical research, their ability to regenerate (please do not do this deliberately at home) types (colors) of Axolotl, facts and more.I realize now that this is not the right pet for my household, yet it would make an incredible addition for a friend of mine – and now I know which one to get, and how much to spend.

The first third of the book contains pages about an inch shorter than the rest of the book making it unreadable. There's even a sticker on the back of the book indicating that it's damaged. Why send someone a damaged book? Returning for refund. Please improve your quality control.

Many of the facts are incorrect and the book shows many pictures of emaciated axolotls and axolotls reciving improper care. Not good for someone looking into buying an axolotl.
