I love this book. This is the second one I've had (this is to replace the other well-read book, which I cannot find). One thing I was impressed with is that the author was in his nineties when I first bought the book, and was still giving lectures. To me, if the person preaching health is healthy, that's the best sign that he has something worth saying.The book talks about bowel cleansing. I followed one of his cleanses as best I could (I couldn't buy all the supplements he recommended), and it was the best juice fast I'd been on. I was never hungry, except for one time when I was unable to keep to the schedule.

I brought this book by Dr. Jensen, and followed the steps on the tissue cleanse step by step, it was one of the most challenging things I have ever done! The first few days were a piece of cake, I was feeling amazing! It was the last few days that "Things" started becoming very challenging, and I started wondering if I should have ever started this in the first place! But in the end I was very grateful that I did! Perhaps not a book everyone can read but if one could uncap one's brain and pour the knowledge in Dr. Jensen's publications into their "think tank" we would all be benefitted from "HEAD TO TOE." In deed a book I wish all gastroenterologists and rheumatologists would integrate into their professional repertoire.Dr. Jensen takes one beyond the treatment of only symptoms. Rare if one can adhere to a healthy diet but just to have some knowledge of why we suffer so "unnecessarily" gives one some leverage to make make an improvement. Dr. Jensen addresses diet but also emphasizes his understanding of the very real importance of striving for emotional equilibrium, "healthy" moods, attitudes and as Avatar Meher Baba has stated, learning constructive ways of ' how to worry about how not to worry!' Bon Appetite!!!

People don't take their poor bowel health seriously. Doctors have been poo-pooing (pun intended) nutrition and colon health since the dawn of allopathic medicine. If you think loose stools, irregular bowel patterns, intermittent constipation/ diarrhea and the floating frothy mess you leave in the toilet is normal, this book will open your eyes. Defecation is so taboo as a subject in our society. As a nurse, I have witnessed severe illness in people who are actually in denial that they must move their bowels on a daily basis. Especially women, some whose bowel habits -- if you can get them to talk about it -- is once every 7 days! These people end up with abscesses and cancers resulting in bowel resections and colostomy bags. The Western diet leaves us too many bad choices, opting for flavor over nutrients. Acid-forming foods (meats and white flour products)elicit a mucous response in the entire body, and well-hidden, the small bowel. This eventual "wallpaper paste" collapses the cilia hairs in the small bowel preventing uptake of nutrition from food. Low fiber diets contribute to this environment. Poor absorption and illness results. Fasting, the use of Bentonite clay (Sommes), careful colonics and a reintroduction of a diet rich in woody fiber will help shear the gunk from your bowel wall. Autopsies have proven that most people are carrying around an extra 10+ pounds of putrefied fecal matter in their bowels. I recommend Dr. Jensen's method for anyone who is suffering from poorly diagnosed illnesses which modern medicine is not healing, autoimmune issues especially. His work is tantamount and a landmark for the Common Sense required for good health.

About the Author

Erica Armstrong Dunbar is the Charles and Mary Beard Professor of History at Rutgers University. She also serves as Director of the Program in African American History at the Library Company of Philadelphia. Her first book, A Fragile Freedom: African American Women and Emancipation in the Antebellum City was published by Yale University Press in 2008. What an incredible piece of history. Startling and inspiring at once. In Ona Judge Staines, I'd say we have a new American hero. A 22-year old enslaved girl who chose a dirt poor fugitive's life in New Hampshire over a "privileged" life of slavery, a girl who ran away from no less than the beloved first president of the USA! Her courage is hard to fathom. And the Washingtons -- wow -- how slyly and relentlessly they chased her down. Amazing story. Must read!

Since learning about the Broadway Play Hamilton, I have been obsessed with the American Revolution. The history books are filled with harrowing tales of the Founding Fathers, stories undoubtedly pieced together from scores of journals and papers recorded by the Founders themselves. Never do you hear tales of the Founding Fathers from a slave's perspective. I'm sure one would find that, contrary to how these men pictured themselves, they were neither hero nor martyr in the privacy of their homes. That is what makes this story so unique! Most slaves could neither read nor write, so most historical accounts are not from their perspective. Thousands of slave stories left this earth unrecorded. It took the brilliance and curiosity of Dr. Dunbar to finally tell this story of a brave Ona Judge who risked everything for freedom; a slave who escaped the service of the most powerful man in the US at the time.Dr. Dunbar used her skill as a researcher and understanding of African American history to weave together a detailed story about a fierce young woman born into slavery, the property of an estate. What an incredibly difficult task it must have been to piece together such a complex story without concrete facts. Dunbar's ability to draw inferences based on the time period allowed Ona's story to take shape. The attention to detail gave depth and breadth to the historical breadcrumbs left by a woman who chose life as a fugitive over slavery.My life has been forever impacted by this story. Born in another time, I don't know that I would have had Ona Judge's same courage to leave everything that I knew for a life of uncertainty, forever looking over my shoulder. Leaving my family, succumbing to fear, unable to find employment, illiterate, poor, all of these things would paralyze me, which is why I look to Ona Judge as a modern day hero.

As a prolific reader of revolutionary history, I had read about Ona Judge in other books about George and Martha Washington. So little has been mentioned of her because it was an enormous embarrassment to the Washingtons that she ran away from being enslaved by such a prestigious first family. Ona Judge had come to the Washington's massive collection of over three hundred slaves when she was an infant. She worked exclusively for Martha Washington in every capacity of a personal maid and was shocked and horrified that Martha would callously give her away to her incredibly selfish and nasty-tempered granddaughter as a wedding present! This book is the story of her to run . A fascinating book! Highly recommend!

This is a story you don't learn in grade school--or college either--about the Washingtons and their relationship with their slaves and their political ideology. It opened my eyes about the first ever First Family and their times. Unfortunately, we don't all know our own history very well, but this book will help alleviate that problem. Although the story is well-researched, the Ona Judge story had to be told mostly based on generalities about slavery and what Judge was likely thinking during her enslavement and subsequent escape. That removed way of telling the story was the book's main drawback. I highly recommend this book anyway as it reveals the life of a remarkable but little known woman in American history. Her story is as necessary for school children to know as is the George and Martha Washington story.

While the author's agenda is clear regarding her critique of GW's treatment of his slaves, there's too much "presentism" in judging 18th century figures by 21st century standards. In checking the end notes regarding Washington's alleged physical abuse of slaves, there's too much "some believe" or "it has been reported" rather than rigorous scholarship. Assertions that have not been solidly verified should not be included in scholarly works.

I am probably like a lot of people in that i know the general outline of George and Martha Washington's life from what I learned in high school but beyond that I am not too familiar with the details. I knew that Washington was wealthy and made his money from a tobacco plantation but beyond that that is about all we hear about the hundreds of slaves that he owned that created his family's vast wealth. This book goes a long way towards filling in that gap and reveling a part of the Washington's lives that I would imagine most people are not all that familiar with. Ona Judge was one of two of the Washington's slaves that ran away and were successful in not being caught and returned. The author does a great job of telling her story and putting it in the context of what was going on at the time both in the nation and the Washington household. Telling the story of slaves is no easy task since the sources that are available are so thing when it comes to first person accounts of the lives of the enslaved. They are in effect invisible to historians to a certain degree and this allows them to be ignored and the role the played and the hardships they endured to be downplayed. Never Caught pulls back the veil on a small part of that by telling this story. The author has to do a fair amount of speculation about Judge's motivations but makes a convincing case for what she did and why she did it. If I have one criticism of the book I would have liked to have had more of judge's own words in the book as limited as they may have been. This book is a quick and interesting read and would be of interest to anyone wanting to lean more about the early history of this country as well as well as the the lives of out first president and how slavery was an issue even at the beginning of this nations history.

Once you get past the learning curve, this is a great, fun game. Only played it with two people but it is a lot of fun and well-suited for two (many games are not good for just two players). Best to watch some online reviews of the game to jump-start the learning curve. Trying to explain the game to someone is also pretty difficult. Best to jump in and start playing once one person has taken the time to familiarize there-self with the game. My wife and I got the hang of it after a couple of quick hands.

Love this game, my friend bought it and i played it and loved it so i had to get it myself so i bought it for my husband and i to play. It is really great 2-4 player game and fantastic for just 2 people

Very fun game! Easy to learn. My 10 year old son plays as well and we all have fun.

Even though the rules are rather badly written, the game is brilliant. I heartily recommend this to everyone who is not afraid to try something different from traditional card games.

Love this game!

This is a kind of rummy, so you have to match some cards, in this case, evidences of Jack crimes. It's a great game, but it works only with 2 players. I love the art as well: it reminds me From Hell, graphic novel by Alan Moore and Eddie Campbell.

I LOVE when stitch dictionaries include *not* just written stitch-by-stitch directions but *also* include CHARTS! I rely on neither & benefit from both!Even better are those rare dictionaries that tell me something about the fabric that stitch will create, how best to employ them in projects but also cautions & things to be aware of working the pattern. This book includes *all* of these... and photos of each swatch! Combined with "multiples +" info & I've got everything I need to choose a stitch pattern to play with or include in a project.There are a *few* of the "standard issue" stitch patterns pretty much every Dictionary includes... but LOTS of unique stitch patterns I rarely see & *many* I've seen no where else.If you already have several stitch dictionaries, don't be afraid to consider adding this to your arsenal! I was *extremely* pleased going through each pattern & outright excited about a bunch! Some were variations on a theme but some were just plain unique.FYI: I invest in Kindle stitch dictionaries because we are full time RVers & I can't keep all my print dictionaries with me. I find digital stitch dictionaries a little annoying but they have an advantage over print dictionaries too. I highlight the name of each pattern & add a note that includes the "multiple + _" & number of rows in the repeat, plus anything else in the description that may help me quickly narrow down options when looking for a design element. Using the Notes feature, I can *quickly* see which patterns have the right number of stitches/rows or could be easily made to work in a given project before turning to the photos. This is the first thing I do the first time I open that particular book &/or over subsequent viewing when I see no note on a given stitch pattern. I also bookmark patterns I especially liked at first look. Makes them more useful in some ways than my print dictionaries!

I have enjoyed learning new stitch patterns from this book. I like the color photos and that the yarns are all different colors that display the patterns. The only think I wish is that this was spiral bound so it would lay flat while you are working from it. It is awkward to hold it open while trying to follow the pattern. I am not a memorizer, especially of the ones that have more than three repeated rows, so I have to follow along in the book so spiral would be nice. I have found that all the patterns I've tried have been accurate and have worked out just fine. There are clear instructions for multiplying the patterns.

As the title states, this book contains 250 knitting patterns; once beginners understand the fundamentals of knitting, they could do some of these patterns easily (basic garter stitch, stockinette stitch, basic rib patterns), but other patterns are advanced cables, lace, and colorwork. Color photos show the resulting pattern, and instructions are given in both verbiage and charts. In addition, the instructions for each pattern recommend yarn weights and types for that particular pattern, since standard worsted (#4 weight) is not always the best for some patterns.Back matter “refreshe(s) [knitters’] knowledge” (169) of needle and yarn selection and care, stitch techniques, interpreting instructions in both verbiage and charts, and more.This book, like others of its type, is for intermediate to advanced knitters who want to expand their repertoire; absolute beginners would need help from a more experienced knitter. I see this book as an excellent resource for sampler-style throws or other things of my own design.

This is a great book for beginning and intermediate knitters that need help interpreting patterns or developing their own. I use it frequently to interpret stitches in new patterns. The photographs are great and the book includes a glossary of terms, including how to interpret knitting in the round and graph patterns.

Lots of great stitches but the print size is very small and hard to read.

I was so tired of depending on the same stitches I had used in the past and I had no idea that such a wonderful compilation in the world of stitching existed until I ran across this wonderful book at Amazon. If cables are your thing (as they are mine), there are several in this book - most I'd never seen. I can't wait to try them all.

Even with YouTube to refer to, having a book of different stitch patterns collected and organized in one place is very helpful when starting new projects.

For the most part, this book is helpful. Having said that, there are some errors in the book. I would re-work calculations trying to figure out how I got something wrong only to realize after e-mailing my teaching that it was the book that was incorrect! As you can imagine, this is incredibly frustrating. My teachers ended up sending a letter to the company with the errors in the book, so maybe they'll come out with a new edition? Aside from that, it was helpful.

The perfect solution for not wanting to spend a lot of money on a newer book. This book does have some noticable variations compared to the 7th edition. In the practice areas there are less questions than the newer version, some of the chapters are switched around, and some highlighted areas are colored differently sometimes making it a bit difficult to follow along when a class requires the newer edition.I got this book for $5 (including shipping). It was definitely worth it! It's a great option for anyone who's tired of paying full price for a book and barely getting half of it back at the end of the year.

I am a former student of Mrs. Bucholz, so maybe I'm biased, but she was an incredible teacher who really cares for her students, and I think that is reflected in the book. I like the way things are explained simply and with lots of practice. Overall, I would recommend this book to any friend in another nursing school program.

Everyone seemed to like these books according to the reviews except me. I just couldn't connect with the characters especially Jenna. That girl was an idiot. Nothing about her made sense to me. I did like Rico but to pair him with an idiot was a bad idea. I won't be reading anymore of this series. I won't recommend this book.

Very interesting. I do hope the fourth book ties up all the loose ends. I like all the characters. Having the different paranormal groups in New Orleans reminds me of a TV series. I use text to speech on my Kindle. All three books need deep editing. Listen. And. Learn.
