He has PhD equivalency, granted by CUNY Board of Trusties; and holds the EIT in New York State. Valentino and Goldenberg are also authors of a one of the best "intro to CNC" books published in recent years. If you are new to industrial CNC or are taking a skilled trades course involving Mastercam then this instructional book will provide excellent value and in my opinion contains considerably more detail that is not found in the competing CamInstructor series of training guides that typically used in conjunction with the Haas CNC mills and lathes found at most technical colleges in North America skilled trades programs. It would be very interesting to hear from others how they compare this book and the comprehensive series by Matthew Manton and Duane Weidinger that is also highly recommended if you want to learn Mastercam 2D, 3D 4&5D axis CNC mill software. If you use Mastercam X7 2D Mill at your place of employment then this step by step training guide may still be very useful to you. I have heard more than one exprienced user of Mastercam state that the software is so powerful they still are learning how to use its evolving functionality and new high speed toolpaths. If you are already an expert with older versions of Mastercam then this book will help serve as a reference to the new version released in 2013 assuming your employer hasn't sent you to an accelerated training course. One important caveat: The incorporation of the Mastercam Demo X7 HLE software on DVD and lessons are worth the purchase of the book alone. The included software will allow you to practice creating 2D mill geometry and assigning toolpaths, but will NOT allow you to output the result as G code that would make the part. To do that you will need to pay the folks at Mastercam for a seat and a valid SIM which with all the bells and whistles could easily run $25K upfront. For those home CNC hobbyists who are just getting started please understand that Mastercam software is used by many shops and companies who do not want to invest in the steep learning curve or typical expense of ~$40K seat cost and ~$4K yearly "maintenance" fees that the gold standard CNC CAM packages typically cost. Those programs are typically used in Fortune 500 companies manufacturing engineering groups such as those making custom products heading into the demanding aerospace market. If you are a small business owner looking to understand the power of Mastercam software then invest in this book and home learning environment software and decide if it will benefit. Final warning if you do invest in Mastercam be prepared to also buy very high end engineering workstations with lots of memory to run it.

It's an alright book. I took this class with the person who wrote it. Pro. Goldenberg. At Queensborough Community College. He doesn't explain what to do, he expects us to know it this book provides examples of how to do things, but its not so clear on all steps, so you would have to figure it out on your own. Its a helpful book but the steps aren't 100% helpfull. I gave it 3 stars because.. well, find out for yourself, buy this book and you'll end up giving it 3 stars also.

Received an expired demo version. Have no idea the quality of the book and it's contents.

The first book I got had a blank DVD in the back so I sent it back. The second book also had a blank DVD in the back. I already had a copy of mastercam x7 demo so I just kept the book. I emailed the publisher about getting a replacement DVD but got no response from them.

Haven't read the book, but bought it for the software. No need to work in the computer lab at College. I can use the MasterCam website and this program from my home computer. Saves me lots of time.

I attended the seminar put on by Joseph Quijano and his son in Denver Colorado. The book follows his seminar with many of the concepts that we should be teaching in our schools and that everyone should know. Not only did I enjoy this simple to read and understand financial concepts without technical jargon, it made it simple to understand. So simple that I was able to get started using the strategy and take a CD sitting at my bank earning 1.5% and put it someplace where I am guaranteed 4% or more. I was then within a week able to borrow my own money and pay off some of my higher credit card debt. The best part is the money I borrowed does not count against my guaranteed 4% and if I pay back into my account the same amount I was paying on the credit card the debt is paid off in half the time and gains me even more in my account. My regret is that this was not released until after I went to Iceland in July. There is a lot of very good information, I do wish the book was bigger to enjoy the images but on the other side, it is a packable size though I may splurge and get the Kindle version. There are a lot of places mentioned I wished I had time to visit but there was at least one curious omissions, for instance, Svartifoss Waterfalls, a spectacular waterfall in basalt columns near some of the locations mentioned was not there. You can Google it to easily find it. But this book could not possibly mention them all so I would do some further searching. The plus side is I'm going back in March and there were a lot of winter images and info so yay!

This is NOT a collection of photographs; NOT a coffee table book. It is an excellent helping hand for photographers that want to know where they can get a photo; what are the considerations for The Shot -- location, south side of the river or the north; aperture; best filter for that waterfall shot, etc. In short, it's the kind of guidance anyone who is serious about their photography would like to have BEFORE going on-site. If only you could have this kind of guidance before that trip to Botswana or Angkor Wat or . . . anyplace that costs alot to get to and is likely to be seen only once.

Great book and just what I wanted because, instead of a book full of technical how-to as to photographing Iceland, the book gives five detailed tours of Iceland.The author tells us where to stay, what kind of car to rent, and even what something to bring :-) Of course, he also talks about the camera equipment you will need. Even points out that sheep often across the road and with no warning — The guy knows the country!He also points out that many potentially dangerous sites in Iceland are not fenced: for example glaciers, and certain features for which he suggest you take a guide with you. Not something I read every day in photography books :-)The bulk of the book is the author’s detailed description of five tours to take, including Reykjavík, which will yield great photographic opportunities. For each location he gives “top tips“ including what to eat, where to eat, where to stay, etc. he talks about the tourist destinations, for example art museums in Reykjavík, as well as where and when to shoot pics.In his essay on the northern part of Iceland he talks about which towns to stay in to avoid long drives, especially in the Icelandic dark winter. Schulz does not skimp on the technical aspects we all look for-for the mud pools at Hverir, for example, he gives exact camera settings including the filter to use to shoot the colorful mud holes.And for each location, he often give us the time of year to be there that time of day to shoot, what equipment you will need for that specific location-for example, bring along a long lens when you visit the coast in order to shoot whales, local phone numbers to call for information, and many website links to helpful information about your stay there.The area that appeals to me the most by his description is the “golden circle“ with its hidden waterfalls. Schulz describes one area is having a secluded waterfall that flows into a blue gully — how could you not want to see that for yourself?This is, happily, not just a how-to photograph book but instead a complete guide to visiting Iceland with your camera. It’s just about all you would need to take with you on your trip as far as great books. Tells you where to go, where to stay and eat, what equipment to bring, even what kind of car to rent for particular locales, and what time to arrive at your chosen sites. Well worth having!

Most folks don't have a producer to help them schedule and plan a trip to Iceland, so I found it to be an invaluable resource for working in a place that I’d never been. If you're interested in capturing beautiful images in Iceland, this is a book that you shouldn't leave behind.

The book is richly illustrated, with many photos. Slick pages tell of a desire to present a richly made book.The volume is organized into six sections: the human side of war; the life of soldiers; resources, resolve and ingenuity; a war of firsts; warriors, poets & scoundrels; aftermath. A few examples suffice to indicate the scope of the work.The human side of war. Examples here include the telling of the cavalier JEB Stuart's death; Fort Sumter; the horrific bloodletting at Cold Harbor.The life of soldiers. This is a coffee-table book, but a very interesting one for sure. If you have a serious background in Civil War history, I doubt there will be much new information here, but if you have an interest in learning about the Civil War, or war in general, this book presents many factual and interesting one page stories (more like essays). With each story being accompanied by at least one relevant picture, the book is very enjoyable. Highly recommend it for middle school on up. Great conversation starter, just open to any story and read it aloud - your audience will most likely find it very interesting and ask for more.

Love this book! There are so many human interest stories in these book, it's not all the facts of the war that is hard to keep track of. You can read a few stories, put it down & go back later to read more. I actually bought this for a friend (a real civil war buff) for his birthday. I already had a copy that my son had bought me a few years before. A treasure I will keep!

I saw this book in a customer's home and was intrigued by the approach to reporting on this period from the human side of the civil war. Every story is a gem and hits its mark. A must buy for all who honors the brave men and women on both sides of the conflict. It helps to show that those who lived through the tragedy of the Civil war were all victims of the evil of three hundred years of human slavery. In the name of "states rights," people went to war because they wanted to perpetuate and expand a way of life that exploited and dehumanized 4 million people so that a few might profit from the sacrifice of the many. Our present growing economic inequality is a frightening reminder of those difficult times leading up to the Civil war and this book is a testament to the pain and sorrow in the lives of millions of men, women and children who lived through the civil war.

This is an excellent book with beautiful layout and formatting. It covers many topics of the Civil War and includes a little about after the war. I purchased this for an eighth grade classroom and the only negative thing I can say is that there is a photo of a topless female slave near the beginning of the book. In some districts, this might be cause for parental protest.

I purchased this book as a gift for someone who has an interest in the Civil War. It is beautifully laid out with pictures and short chapters for easy reading. Since they already had books on the Civil War, I thought that it would be an interesting addition to their library since this book had some of the less known events about the war not generally known. As it turned out, it was a well-received gift and would also make a nice coffee table book!

My husband received this book for his birthday & is thoroughly enjoying it. "The Untold Civil War" is not another book detailing Civil War battles, but covers a wide range of topics including little or unknown facts, heartfelt stories about the tragedies & triumphs of soldiers & civilians, and tidbits of information about other curious & fascinating aspects of the war. For example, a Confederate soldier designed barrel staves into an artificial leg for the one he lost, and shortly thereafter began making artificial limbs for other unfortunate soldiers. Every two page spread of this easy to read book contains either photographs, sketches or artifacts.My husband is having a hard time putting this book down.5 stars

I got this book as a gift for my husband. It is a larger book than I expected, almost like a coffee-table book. It is filled with a lot of small chapters of interesting information that would normally not be found in other Civil War literature. I enjoyed reading it as well, and war-time books are not usually an interest of mine!

What a blessing this book has been to my relationship with God, my understanding of how grudges and cherished sins can neuro-biologically prevent me from accepting and experiencing God's forgiveness and boundless love. Some of the metaphors used to explain complex spiritual and/or neurological concepts are SO easy to understand that I am shocked I never thought of them before! This book offers a lot of healing for people who carry around anger, hatred, and pain from damaged interpersonal relationships. It also helps to clarify just how perfect and all-encompassing God's love is. The chapter on atonement was so eye-opening for me; Jesus came and died, not to appease an angry God, but to make "at-one" two parties (us and God) who had been separated!This book is going to help me in my clinical practice, with patients who want to explore the spiritual connections/implications of their physical/psychological illnesses, to better explain just how God can and does heal our minds and bodies through His forgiveness.Dr. Jennings, thank you so much for writing this book. God will bless everyone who reads it and prayerfully considers the implications.

I purchased this book at the same time as Andrew Newberg's book, How God Changes Your Brain. How God Changes Your Brain: Breakthrough Findings from a Leading Neuroscientist Although both books cover roughly the same material, Jennings adds a distinctly evangelical, Christian perspective. He is also much more readable than Newberg.

A lot of interesting information on the brain which Mr. Jennings backed up with scripture. However, his theology is a little out of whack. His idea of people not going to hell, but being anniliated is not backed by scripture. I think he also misses the point about fear. The scripture is replete with warnings - both in the Old and New testament about fearing the Lord. Although some theologians will argue that this means awe - it is pretty clear that God is to be feared otherwise we will fear men or nature. Jesus Himself told us that we should not fear the ones who could kill the body but the One who can kill the body and soul. That being said, Mr Jennings is correct that a lifelong fear of God is crippling. That is why the scripture tells us that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. The most important word here is - beginning. We start out fearing God, but as His adopted children we learn that His discipline is not to harm but to protect us. That is why John tells us that perfect love casts out fear. This is in context when we face our Father after our death. We should have no fear because we come to the realization that God has been for us all along. Until then we struggle with fear of God, otherwise we will definitely fall into the fear of man.

This book starts out hot with fresh insights into the neurophysiology if the brain and how science in this area supports scripture. The author correlates scientific insights to Jesus teachings that affirm His divine knowledge of the brains He made.Dr. Jennings also cites valuable research that shows television use directly correlates to lower brain functioning while increasing homicidal and other criminal behavior as seen in a study of US, Canadian and South African cultures.Dr. Jennings insights and research along with his personal anecdotes into the functions of love and forgiveness especially with his clientele is compelling reading. However he makes a handful of observations and conclusions that preclude his later deviation into false teaching.Sadly he pivots hard at the teaching of eternal torment in favor of anihilationism, even sympathizing with rightfully jettisoned quasi-Christian Rob Bell who was properly ousted by the faithful for attempting the same in his book Love Wins.A simple reading of Revelations 20:11-15 makes explicit that hell is a lake of fire reserved for Satan and his ilk, including the damned of mankind who are damned for rejecting Christ and His work.Anihilationism cheapens the work of Christ and replaces eternal consequences with the temporary suffering of the sinful thus giving themNo need of saving.Read the first three quarters but save your breath for the disappointing conclusion. I believe this passage applies to Dr. Jennings chapters on anihilationism:their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work. If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward. If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved—even though only as one escaping through the flames.1 Corinthians 3:13-15Hopefully God spares Dr Jennings for this poor treatment of the most serious of issues.

I am still slowly reading through this book, not because it's boring or even hard to read. I am doing so to allow the truths that are unpacked within to wash over me while I study, pray and seek God. Spending time to verify and validate this perspective against my understanding of the bible and what I hear from the Holy Spirit. It is truly amazing how eye opening this book is. The Holy Spirit recently sparked I me a new interest for Neuroscience. Shortly afterwards I happened upon this book. I have since shared the book with many of my pastors, friends and even colleagues. I am very greatful to Dr. Jennings for his obedience to God for writing this book, and God for revealing this in such a fascinating and mind blowing way.

Absolutely loved this short story about Keanna and Jett at Christmas time. While yes, I was a bit confused when Keanna and Jett got whisked back in time to if they had never met each other. I still absolutely loved it with the ending, and also once again the fact that Jace and Bayleigh and Park and Becca are still both very much in love and still together. Amy Sparling is one of my favorite authors and I loved this book as with all the others! I definitley 100% reccommend this book

I'm hoping for a book 5 in this series, but not a novella. Those are too short. I can't seem to get enough of these characters and story line. The ONLY reason I did not give this novella a five star rating was b/c most of it had Jett & Keanna apart. Hope I'm not giving away too much. I was just very sad throughout this novella, but it turned out well in the end.

Not my favorite in the series. The other 3 books were so fun, but this one was different and not a personal favorite. Happy to see them work through their problems, but not a fave.

I love this series, hopefully there will be more to come. Amy does a great job engaging with her readers!!

Wish it were longer, but it sure made a good point! I love reading about Keanna and Jett! Keep writing about them Amy Sparling!

I hope this isn't the end of the series

The book was fantastic! Some typos but the story line made up for it! I hope to see more books based on these two awesome characters .
